Vehicle description

This beautiful example looks as fresh as it did when it drove out of the showroom in November 1980. Finished in Mercedes Light Ivory with contrasting 'Brazil' leather this time warp car just oozes elegance. This was one of the first 500SL models, replacing the previous 450SL in mid 1980. Specified with Limited slip differential, 'Tempomat' cruise control, electric windows, rear seats, headlight wash and alloy wheels, this would have been a very pricey car in its day. 14 Inch alloy wheels, front driving lights and a Blaupunkt Coburg complete the period look. Air conditioning has since been fitted using genuine Mercedes parts. Owned by a wealthy Doctor who spent most of his time overseas, this car was garaged and used infrequently with the mileage in 2006 standing at 6,202. At this point it was sent to Mercedes in Stockport for a thorough going over with all fluids changed and a full inspection given. The car has since been maintained by a specialist and i must say it is by far the best I have driven. These are very expensive cars to restore. This car needs nothing spending on it and is ready to be enjoyed THIS summer!
